The Down Syndrome Association (Singapore) has organized an event to celebrate World Down Syndrome Day (21 March) in which more than 800 people took part in a Buddy Walk and Carnival along Orchard Road on a Saturday morning on 22 March 2014.
The organizer hopes through this event, it will raise the awareness and involvement of local community and create an inclusive society where persons with Down Syndrome belong.
Member of Parliament for Tampines GRC Mr Baey Yam Keng is present to flag off the Buddy Walk event.
In support of this event, a Sqwincher hydration booth is set up at the carnival to sell Sqwincher Sqweeze Pops and Sqwincher Qwik Stiks drinks to help raise funds. This will go to supporting educational, developmental and social programs for children and adults with Down Syndrome.
We hope everyone have a good time enjoying the performances at the carnival and participated in a good cause in one way or another.
